we did mix the tofu in with other stuff...so it was not just tofu, and tofu absorbs the flavors of stuff around it, so marinating it before hand will also give it a new flavor.
But I do like the taste of it alone (in japan they even have some varieties that are served cold with a little bit of ginger on top and a sauce....some have flavors---my favorite was black sesame flavor!--dang miss that one )
Paying for college...I managed to get 2 cheap scholarships my freshman year (meaning the lowest amount the could give me)....lost one due to my low grade in human anatomy (why the heck I was taking a pre-med weed out class for my art major---well they changed that requirement the following year, too late for me and my classmates most of whom failed the class) kept one for the rest of the time.....but augie wasnt a cheap school either. No student loans for me, my parents had to shell out the complete sum (minus the pittance of my scholarships) for all 4 years....and my sister was also in college at the same time sans scholarships---valpo--another private (=expensive) college. AND my father died my first year so my mom had no income ONLY my dad's retirement (she had not worked since before I was born---hard to back then with 6 kids).
....good to not have student loans upon graduation, but I started dating my (now) husband my last year and he did have loans up the wazoooooo (said augie was expensive and back then you could only get a max of $4k/year which barely covered ONE quarter at augie).....which we did pay off in full early even.
Grad schools should pay you to go--or find one that does. I got mine paid for and a stipend as well (not a big one, so I still had to get a real life job on the side AND work at the school at the same time as taking a full masters load of classes---still not sure how I made it thru that year)....hubby got a full ride plus a decent stipend. THAT is the way to go.

I know about private schools lol Bradley is pretty expensive from what my friends have told me. I guess tuition is around 30k a year now I believe. But even still, private schools offer a lot of scholarships. Didn't you go to ISU cosy? I want to say recall something like that... Or maybe you just lived in Bloomington-Normal... I know a friend who went to Augustana for a semester and then transferred to Bradley.
No student loans for my gf or me when we get out of college which is awesome. Very excited about that idea.
That is what is happening with my gf. She is thinking about going to grad school right after getting her undergrad, but the company she interned at is going to pay for it and pay her 12-15k a year for her stipend. So not horrible I guess...

lol rocky....you are old remember?? (hubby is having 20 year college reunion this year...wow).
Yes pwnd I went to grad school for a year at ISU....unfortunately my prof and I didnt see eye to eye ...and I was not what she had wanted for a grad student/assistant (the other one was her drinkin buddy--35, married, kids in HS--I was a recent college grad)...so she graded ME instead of my work....after a year I caught on and left to return to augie to pick up my ed degree ----
yeah augie was about 14k or so when I started, closer to 20 when I left (with R&B)....(now its over 40 w R&B...wow just wow)
snog you missed the sports day, sorry

SNOOOGIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hi.
Wow, cosy ninja edited RR's post! OWNED!
That sucks cosy, I'm sorry that your prof was a dbag and wanted a friend instead of an assistant. So you have a undergrad and masters from Augustana huh? That is cool. I don't know where I'll get my masters from.

no there is no masters program at augustana any longer---I have only my undergrad, was planning on finishing my grad in Idaho with my (soon to be ) husband....but they canceled the program there so I never finished my masters-----dont know if I want to finish it as I am already so over educated that I cant get a job with my current level.
(not to mention I would have to basically start over from scratch since I was an art major and current have no portfolio ...heck I havent done anything really art worthy in decades)
(on rr's post I fixed the lack of [ on the 2nd quote.....no ninja-ing I dont have that power)
wow a very strange day indeed....got a phone call from my brothers exwife (we were very unhappy when the split up--she was the sweetest lady we knew, so the rest of us stayed in contact with her, and even went to her 2nd wedding!) she was asking about my old house I grew up in (my brother lives there)...its up for sale? had something happened to my mom.........well as we were talking she mentioned her sisters kid (whom I remember quite well running around like a banshee) is having her SECOND child....
yeup I feel really really old now. Now I just need a college buddy to call me up and invite me to their kids kids baby shower! /sigh

Oh bummer cosy. Never knew that Augastana didn't offer the masters... Oh well, not going to go there so it doesn't matter I guess.
I don't even talk to most of my ex-gf's, but I guess I could see how I would talk to a former brother/sister in-law if I was close to them.
It's late, I'm going to bed. Haven't much to say...

yep little tiny micro things....and they are helpful to you.
I am still on a friendly level with almost all the guys I dated (save one--but I set him up with his now wife but that's another story)...though havent seen one of them since we dated so no idea how he feels about the whole thing. (dont really care either). And some of them are now my very good friends, so I guess I just dont hurt guys badly enough that it harms any potential friendship that could ensue......(or I am really pathetic that they feel they still need to be friendly to me )
yeah when my brother got divorced we decided to keep her and disown him! But they both have gotten remarried and are much happier with their 2nd spouses than their firsts so who are we to say?

Byebye blue sky white sand, hello old buildings and good wines xD.
So far french people aren't that bad, some were pretty helpful. But it's so different that what I'm used to... Have 3 days to find an appartement...that's going to be fun.
If my brother and my sister-in-law get a divorce for whatever reason, I'm pretty sure I'd still consider her like my old (hopes she reads this ) sister.

I think it is a guy thing to not talk to ex's. Cause a lot of my friends who are girls still talk to their ex-bf's, or at least try too. lol
I'm not really close with my brother-in-law but I think that is because my sister never let us get to close to her boyfriends. Normally because they were bad news but whatever.

wow red.....3 days to find an apartment in France, thats a tall order! (at least when I lived in Japan I had enough time since we did 'home' stays) good luck on that!!
but it should be a really exciting time too---learning a new city and country ....so enjoy it too!
by ex-bf's had no issues keeping in contact with me after we split, it was mutual splitting for the most of them (you find you just really dont have that much in common)...but we still had the same circle of friends and such.
so curry is for dinner tonite....with beef, YUM!!!

3 days is very little time unless you know where to look I would assume. And yes, I echo cosy's sentiments and wish you a enjoyful time. (Hehe, I made up a word!)
Ah, mine were not mutual really. I have kept contact with a few of them but the one I had before my current gf I don't talk to. That one ended fairly badly. But meh, life goes on.
Went home with my gf today to get her birthday present (a Wii, she loves it) which is a month early and also her Christmas present. But it's okay, she has been playing it for almost 2 hours now lol We also swam and had dinner with my parents and sister. It was fun. Had hamburgers and french fries.

Azzer you are so evil xD.
Thank you guys. We kind of know where to look, but we forgot that today is sunday xD. So we are going to stay in the hotel a little bit longer.
But a lot of thing here are so different...I mean come on, why can't they make a panino a sunday ? But it couldn't be worse than having to go in canada where even if I speak french I'd still be a little lost cause they don't use to same words for some things.
I love the Wii (Mario and DDR).
My birthday was a week ago, friends came home, ate 3 cakes xD. It was fun.
Good luck on your rock hounding Cosy.

I didn't date any of my friends so that kind of cute down on that thankfully. Though if I had dated one of my friends it probably would have been a mutual split and thus we would have still talked. But meh.
My gf played the New Super Mario Bros for 4 hours last night. I had to tell her to get off and go to bed. Never though I would see the day... lol

poor pwnd, got his gf addicted to a video game and cant get any time with her now....(you can now take the shoe off the other foot).
well belated bday red....and more good luck on the apartment hunting.
....the only reason I dated people in my friends group was due to them being just about the only people I would even want to spend any time with (I was a geek ok????)
